Dubai Gold Cup Magazine - 2022

My interest in the horse in motion as subject matter runs parallel with my figurative work. My sister works with competition horses so I’ve had access to horse models for a long time, and been drawing them for many years. I’m interested in their shapes and dynamism and by removing any background context in the image, I aim to focus the viewer on their power and grace through the air. I’ve exhibited my equine work internationally since 2017.

Pool Party at Sarah Wiseman Gallery - 2021

Sarah Wiseman gallery in Oxford reopened after lockdown with a stylish pool party exhibition to celebrate summer.

“I’ve been using water as an environment for my figures for many years. The resistance and the weightlessness of water make it the perfect place to capture the human figure in motion. Below the surface has a different temperature, sound, speed and even gravity has a different pull. I love what happens visually as a swimmer cuts through water and it resonates on another level as we journey through life creating our own ripples along the way.”
