HORSES
Archive Works 2017 - 2023
My interest in the horse in motion as subject matter has run parallel with my figurative work. My sister works with competition horses so I’ve had access to equine models for a long time, and been drawing them for many years. I have been interested in their shapes and dynamism and by removing any background context from the image, I aim to focus the viewer on their power and grace through the air. In my equine work I have always been trying to make contemporary, emotional drawings which have as much to do with us as humans as they do with horses.
