A couple of months ago I was approached by Jump, a Design company in Shoreditch in East London with a view to producing a major piece for their offices. I made a lot work some years ago around images of freerunners and have long been interested in imagery associated with the human figure jumping, soaring, falling and the associated emotions that these types of image can trigger in the viewer.
This is an exciting project and a very ambitious scale! I started the process with a photoshoot working with an aerial artist who leapt from great heights to give me hundreds of research photos to move forward with. I spent this week working on 8 pastel studies, one of which will be taken forward to the mammoth drawing which Jump will eventually have for their workspace. Exciting!
